Use the large back serial, then Find My
iPads print a bigger serial on the rear than iPhones. On this thin Pro the type is still easy to shoot with a phone camera. If you can reach the person who signed in, they remove the iPad in iCloud Find. Apple explains the lock in HT201365. If the iPad is yours and you forgot the password, start at iforgot.apple.com.
Stop buying one-time codes. Those strings do not write to Apple's activation database. The Pro will ask for the same account after the next network check.
M4 Pro is not the 2025 Air
Flippers mash Pro and Air names to hide a lock. The M4 Pro is the tandem OLED model. The new Air is M3. If the lock screen or the back model line says iPad Air, switch to iPad Air M3 locked to owner. Last year's Air is iPad Air M2 locked to owner.
