The giver opens the Watch app, selects this SE, and taps Unpair Apple Watch. If they already erased their iPhone, they remove the Watch in iCloud Find. Apple's Activation Lock page is HT201365. A gift receipt that lists this serial can support an Apple review. A handshake in a parking lot cannot.
Gen 1 is not the 2022 SE
Marketplace titles drop the generation. The 2022 SE is a different chip and a different used pile. If the pairing sheet says SE (2nd generation), go to Apple Watch SE Gen 2 locked to owner. An older full-size Watch from the same era is Apple Watch Series 8 locked to owner.
